Hi,

The UO Center for Media and Educational Technologies: Interactive Media is looking to hire a talented student web designer starting Winter term. The student must be proficient in XTHML and CSS. Flash and/or ActionScript would be a big plus. Could I advertise this position through your group? It's the perfect fit for someone interested in gaining some real-world experience (as much as the University can be "real-world"). I have a position description that I can send with more information if this seems appropriate.

Thanks,

Kirstin

Dear Karl,
If developing games and graphics is your thing, we've got good news.
Havok is offering a No-Charge PC Download <http://www.intelsoftwaregraphics.com/?lid=1959&cid=487&pid=469&mid=Q5W5fjgHz7k=&ch=e> of its Triple-A physics technology. This binary-only bundle includes all of the standard features and functionality of both the Havok* Physics and Havok* Animation products, such as Havok SDK libraries, samples, and 3-D modeling tools. (We told you it was good news.)
Download the Havok bundle now <http://www.intelsoftwaregraphics.com/?lid=1959&cid=487&pid=469&mid=Q5W5fjgHz7k=&ch=e> and see what a difference core physics software can make.
Oh, and be sure to take a look below to get in on a pretty cool competition.

Feeling creative? Inventive? Maybe even inspired? Havok and Intel hope so, because they want to see what you can do with the no-cost, downloadable version of Havok Physics and Animation for the PC. Between now and January 16th, your game demo or visual computing app could earn you cash, a gaming PC, or maybe even a job. If you're into that sort of thing...

Re: asda-talk: Test Your Color IQ

My score was 12 (on a scale of 0- 1479) after spending 10 minutes arranging the tiles. The lower the better.

uo-asda: Tomorrows Meeting

Here is what will be going on at the meeting tomorrow.

**MACHINE PROJECT**
If you have an idea or a ready made product there will never be a better time to submit it. We have two ideas in the works Papercraft Professors and Rasterbated Posters Both of these could be picked up by other people and contributed to if you want to be a part of this without creating something from scratch.

I also want to plan an info session so people who cannot make the meetings can come and find out what the machine project is all about.

**ASDA GALLERY SHOW**
The application is in, now its time to start planning and selecting a theme. If you want to be a part of this be at the the meeting tomorrow.

**ASDA WEBSITE**
If there is a feature you want to see or want to help with coding or design come to the meeting and get in on the newest project.

**POSTER DISTRIBUTION**
Tomorrow I'll have posters from the poster contest ready to handout for distribution if you want to help post them up around Lawrence and Millrace (and anywhere else you can think of) come and pick some up tomorrow.

asda-talk: Interactive Lighting Tutorial

I came across this little lighting tutorial page. I thought it was pretty interesting. The link about “Foundations of Lighting” reminds me of Craig Hickman’s interactive camera.
